hmmm ... where to start .... well i started off my workout with a spin class ... let me just mention that the spin instructor has my ideal body and i can't help but just wish i could put my head on her body and just call it a day ... afterall, if i had legs that strong and arms that buff and an @ss that didn't giggle, what more could i ask for????
so after spin was my training session with peggy!! shes AMAZING!!! hard as a rock, great personality, cute face and shes double my age ... sometimes i find myself looking at her and thinking "FML" -- throughout our workout not only did she make sure I was holding my body in the right positions and not compromising my back but she encouraged me and she talked to me about changing my mind set about eating ... food is fuel ... food is fuel ... food is fuel ... food should be enjoyed but in moderation ... she talked to me about starting over a "new" life ... reprogramming my head to think and look and feel food in a different manner ... she talked to me and coached me through the process of ending the pitty party ...so what if i can't have a bag of skittles every night ... the night that i do enjoy a portion should be once a week at that and it does not mean sit down and eat an entire bag ...
our workout consisted of lunges (did you know there's about 10 different ways to do a lunge?!?) i for sure didn't ... squatts while working shoulders and triceps with a 6 lb ball, abs, and back! never did i lose focus, never did i whine that my legs were throbbing ... she kept me so inspired and motivated that before i had a chance to say "whew..." my session was coming to an end
its amazing what a diffrerence your workout can make when you know your doing the right excercises for the right muscles and in the right way
tonights mission was a success
in regards to diet: im having to track my food intake for the next three days ... she's going to look at all the foods that i eat, find the patterns in items that i like and replace the unhealthy choices with healthy choices!!!! so for example: my skittles have now been replaced with cinnamon almonds ... both are sweet and crunchy!!!
one more thing i wanted to mention: for those of you who bust your ass at the gym and find guidance from just asking questions from the trainers that work there ... please please please make sure you are asking all the right questions ... everyone has always advised me to push heavy weight on my legs to help build the muscle! peggy was impressed with then amount of muscle that i had however someone like me does not need ton bulk their legs anymore! i've got the muscle there now its time to lean it out and trim down my legs!!
swimsuit season is literally around the corner! i may not make my bikini rock by then but i will be way on my way ....
